Safeguarding

Bradleys Both Community Primary School is committed to ensuring the welfare and safety of children. Our school follows the North Yorkshire Safeguarding Children Partnership procedures.

Important roles within our school

The DSL or DDSL will always be available or contactable during school hours.

People working in schools are uniquely placed to notice signs and symptoms of abuse or neglect.  Staff in schools have a professional duty to support and help children.  It is everybody's responsibility and our mindset is that "It could happen here".

DSL (Designated Safeguarding Lead):
Miss Emma Fawcett (KS2 Senior Lead Teacher)

"Our Designated Safeguarding Lead is like a Safeguarding Lifeguard to help look after us at school"

(Sydney, Year 6)

DDSL (Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead):
Mr Barry Rogers (Headteacher)

PASTORAL TEACHING ASSISTANT:
Mrs Julie Midgley

"The arrangements for safeguarding are effective"

(Ofsted, November 2022)

"Leaders maintain safeguarding as a high priority"

(Ofsted, November 2022)

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is everyone’s responsibility. Everyone who comes into contact with children and their families and carers has a role to play. In order to fulfill this responsibility effectively, all professionals should make sure their approach is child-centered. This means that they should consider, at all times, what is in the best interests of the child.  School staff have a duty, as a professional, to respond to any safeguarding needs.

If anyone has any reason to suspect that a pupil has suffered discrimination or bullying, or is likely to suffer significant harm, you must inform the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) immediately.  Our staff will follow the procedures according to our Child Protection Policy, which is available below.
