COVID 19 UPDATES & RECOVERY
UPDATED JUNE 2022
What is the advice for those aged under 18 years who have taken a test for COVID-19 and the result is positive?
If a child or young person has a positive COVID-19 test result they should try to stay at home and avoid contact with other people for 3 days after the day they took the test, if they can. If after 3 days they feel well and do not have a high temperature then they can return to the setting. Whilst further testing during the same period of infection is not currently advised under national guidance, should individuals continue to test positive after 3 days (or 5 days if aged 18 or over) then return to setting should be risk-assessed. Children and young people who usually go to school, college or childcare and who live with someone who has a positive COVID-19 test result should continue to attend as normal. (NYCC 20th April 2022)

We returned to school for the start of the Autumn term 2021 on Tuesday 7th September. The Children, Staff and Governors warmly welcome both our new Early Years Reception children and children transferring to Bradleys Both this September. It has been lovely to meet you all and see how quickly you have settled into our school family.
School Routines and Protective Measures
Our school is operating a 'soft start drop off' in the mornings to stagger children's arrival at school. The gates are unlocked at 8.45am and children should arrive between 8.45am and 9.00am, going straight into their classroom where their teacher will meet them. Children should not arrive before 8.45am unless they have been booked into our Brads Before School Club. Registers will be taken promptly at 9.00am. Please continue to use the one way system on and off site, entering at the driveway gate and leaving at the top playground gate. We request that out of respect for the vulnerable members of our school community, face coverings are worn and social distancing is followed when mixing in large groups The collection of children will be from the school playground at 3.30pm. Thank you for continuing to support and consider every member of our school community.(13th September 2021)

We know it has been a challenging year for everyone and we look forward to welcoming everybody back to school in the Autumn term, where hopefully we will be able to return to some normality. The safety of everyone at our school is paramount and we will be consulting with Government and Local Authority guidance throughout the summer holiday to keep informed of any further changes required.

WE HAVE REOPENED AND RETURNED TO SCHOOL (8.3.2021)
It was fantastic to welcome our whole school community back to school on Monday morning. Our children have made a super start and it has been great to see the life of our school return to the building. A huge thank you to our amazing Bradleys Both team for all their hard work in preparing school for everyone's return. 'Welcome back to school ' banners and bunting greeted the children as they arrived at the school gate on Monday morning. Thank you to our wonderful school community for carefully following our protective measures put in place to help to continue to keep everyone safe.
Following the recent Government announcement on schools returning to school, we are pleased and excited to confirm that our school will open to all children and staff on Monday 8th March 2021.
Our school team are currently putting in place protective measures to support the smooth return to school. In returning to school it is important to work together and follow the 'Arrangements, Procedures and Code of Conduct' document emailed to staff and parents.
Our class staggered drop off and collection times are as follows:
DROP OFF CLASS COLLECT
8.50am Darwin Class 5 & Newton Class 4 3.30pm
9.00am Edison Class 3 & Franklin Class 2 3.20pm
9.10am Bell Class 1 3.10pm
Please do not arrive at school before your child's designated drop off time. These staggered times have been arranged to reduce the number of people arriving and leaving the school site at any one time. It is important for families to leave the school immediately after drop off or collection. Please do not congregate outside the school gate. Thank you in advance for your understanding and help with this.
We are all looking forward to welcoming back our children to school.
IMPORTANT UPDATE - 4th JANUARY 2021(9.00pm)
Following a Government announcement this evening at 8.00pm by the Prime Minister, school has been closed following a national lockdown. This means that school will not be open to children from tomorrow (Tuesday 5th January 2021).
School staff will be planning and arranging Critical Key Worker and Vulnerable children provision during the day on Tuesday 5th January and parents are requested to email by 10.00am with their requirements. This provision will then start from Wednesday 6th January 2021. Thank you for your understanding.
Class teachers will be making contact with their children through our class emails to provide remote learning tasks.
Please stay safe and look after each other.
Take care everyone!

The Covid Journey so far...
Following a great deal of preparation and hard work, our school re-opened for the start of Autumn term on Wednesday, 9th September 2020 for all children from Year 1 to 6 with one half of EYFS children attending school on Tuesday 8th September and Wednesday 9th September, while the other half of EYFS children attended school on Thursday 10th September and Friday 11th September. After this short induction to school, our new EYFS Reception children have joined the Year to Year 6 children on a full time basis.
There have been some inevitable changes to routines and procedures within school to mitigate risks and keep everyone as safe as is possible. We ask that children, parents and staff follow our 'Arrangements, Procedures and Code of Conduct' guidance. The children are working in Class bubbles, supported by a staff team. Staggered starts and ends to the school day have been put in place alongside staggered break times and lunch times to keep bubble groups independent of each other where it is possible to do so.
It has been great to welcome everyone back to school and see how calmly our children have returned to school life. Everyone is approaching being back at school with great resilience and working hard with their learning. Our Autumn term curriculum has been adapted to allow for reinforcement of learning loss, alongside our broad and balanced curriculum offer. The Covid pandemic is incorporated within the children's learning to support their understanding and learn how we are working together to keep safe.
